Amazing Benefits of Eating #Pickles! Treating muscle cramps Older research from 2010 suggests that pickles may help with muscle cramps. Researchers electrically induced muscle cramps in well-hydrated men once and then a week later. They found that participants who drank pickle #juice rapidly gained relief from their cramps. Deionized water did not offer the same benefits, which means that electrolytes and hydration status alone did not explain the result. This suggests that something else about pickles may help with #muscle #cramps rather than the #water content or the electrolytes. Controlling blood #sugar Pickles that use a vinegar-based brine may help control blood glucose. Stable blood glucose levels can help prevent feelings of intense hunger. Preventing blood glucose spikes is also critical to the health of people with diabetes. A small 2013 study followed 14 healthy adults at risk of type 2 diabetes. Those participants who consumed vinegar at mealtime had lower fasting blood glucose levels than those who did not. More research is necessary to determine the extent of the benefits and the safest amount of vinegar to consume. However, people who are interested in a relatively easy way to help control blood sugar could consider eating pickles or another vinegar-rich food with meals. Source: https://ift.tt/2zddrbA . . .

Free radicals/reactive oxygen species are related to many biological phenomena such as inflammation, aging, and carcinogenesis. The body possesses various antioxidative systems (free radical scavenging activity, FRSA) for preventing oxidative stress, and saliva contains such activity. In the present study, we measured the total salivary FRSA induced after the smelling of #lavender and #rosemary essential oils that are widely used in #aromatherapy. Various physiologically active substances in saliva such as cortisol, secretory IgA, and alpha-amylase activity were found to be correlated with aroma-induced FRSA. . The subjects (22 healthy volunteers) sniffed aroma for 5 min, and each subject’s saliva was collected immediately. FRSA was measured using 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl. The FRSA values were increased by stimulation with low concentrations (1000 times dilution) of lavender or by high-concentrations (10 times dilution) of rosemary. In contrast, both lavender and rosemary stimulations decreased cortisol levels. A significant inverse correlation was observed between the FRSA values and the cortisol levels with each concentration of rosemary stimulation. No significant changes were noted in sIgA or alpha-amylase. These findings clarify that lavender and rosemary enhance FRSA and decrease the #stress hormone, cortisol, which protects the body from oxidative stress. Source:ncbi.nlm.nih.gov . . .

#Avocado oil can penetrate into the second layer of the skin (dermis) and provide deep moisturizing with its oleic acid and phytosterols. People who have a dry and sensitive skin type are usually advised to use oils rich in oleic acid. The lecithin in avocado oil helps boost #collagen, and the pro-vitamin A carotenoids lutein and zeaxanthin enhance the skin’s natural antioxidant store. Studies have found that #avocados, and by extension avocado oil, can both prevent and treat skin damage, thanks to their PFA. In a study, when PFA was injected into skin cells before they were exposed to UVB rays: The skin cells showed increased ability to recover. The secretion of inflammation-inducing chemicals was decreased. DNA repair was enhanced. #Avocadooil has benefits not just for a sun-damaged skin but any skin that shows the signs of natural aging like wrinkles, dryness, and flaccidity. Vitamin E and lecithin in avocado help boost the collagen in the skin, giving it firmness. Vitamin E and carotenoids also prevent inflammation and keep wrinkles from showing on the skin. The fatty acids in avocado oil penetrate into the second layer of the skin, moisturizing it well and preventing aging-related dryness and wrinkles. You can prevent and cure acne by using avocado oil. This oil keeps the skin hydrated without leaving it too oily, which reduces the risk of acne. It can also help with its linoleic acid content since the lack of linoleate in the sebum-producing skin cells is linked to #acne. Avocado oil mixed with vitamin B12 has been found to relieve the symptoms of psoriasis, a condition where skin cells build up to form dry, scaly, and itchy patches on the skin. The #BlueLotus flower is used as an aid for many ailments as well as for recreational purposes. Blue Lotus is reportedly used to relieve pain, to enhance memory, to increasing circulation, to experience feelings of euphoria and ecstasy, and as a sexual #aphrodisiac. This flower can be used by both men and women as an aphrodisiac. It is a painkiller that is especially useful for relieving #musclespasms, #migraines, and tinnitus (ringing in the ears). It can be smoked, which is especially beneficial for eliminating migraine headaches, since they usually accompany nausea. Blue lotus is reported to be “as strong as codeine”, but it is effective in remedying migraines, #menstrualcramps, and various moderate pains. Blue Lotus contains nuciferan (a natural anti-spasmodic) along with aporphine, which will give you feelings of calming euphoria. For that reason, it is a natural anti-anxiety and stress reliever. t has been reported to be useful as an aphrodisiac and to remedy erectile dysfunction. The plant is actually a natural sedative. It contains small amounts of alkaloids highly similar to those used for sedation and anti-convulsant purposes. To prepare it, boil 1 or 2 cups of water, then add 5 grams of dried blue lotus petals and bulb and steep for about 20 minutes. Drink, and you’ll start to feel it in about 30 minutes. You could add more petals, maybe 5 to 10 grams more, if you want to feel extra relaxed. Source: https://ift.tt/2BbHXSM . . .

Did you know that #Fluoride was a “Rat Poison” before it was Toothpaste? Did you know that fluoride is a #neurotoxin and dangerous to your health, so why is it found in most major brands of #toothpastes? Did you know that Fluoride was a “Rat #Poison” before it was toothpaste? Contrary to what we’ve been taught from childhood about the component of fluoride in toothpaste, Scientist, Researchers and Holistic Health and Wellness Professionals have discovered that it’s a contributing factor to lower IQ in children. The following conditions are negative affects that fluoride has on the human #body: Brain damage, tumors, #cancer, immune system disruptor, thyroid disorder, #arthritis, #dementia, infertility, genetic damage and cell death, muscle disorders, lethargy, increased lead absorption, bone fractures, autism, Alzheimer’s disease, apathy & passivity, interferes with white blood cell production, kills brain cells, lowers sex drive, #infertility, sedative, accelerates the aging process, attacks the hypothalamus, affects heart circulation, receding gums, shortens lifespan, memory loss, joint pain, lack of motivation, inhibits melatonin production, kidney stones & kidney failure, damages stomach and digestion, inflammation, accelerates #osteoporosis and many others. While pharmaceutical-grade fluoride is also a toxic drug, this is not the type of fluoride being added to drinking water and your toothpaste. The fluoride that is typically used in your water and toothpaste is a contaminated chemical byproduct that comes from the phosphate fertilizer manufacturing process. Over 170 million people or 67% of the U.S. drink fluoridated water, 43 of the 50 largest cities drink fluoridated water, Why? According to Dr. Bill Osmunson, there’s the same equivalence of fluoride in an 8 ounce glass of fluoridated tap water as there is in a “pea sized” amount to call the Poison Control Center as recommended on the back of any fluoridated toothpaste. #PineappleJuice does help in cough relief. Its anti-inflammatory compound called bromelain can reduce the inflammation in allergic conditions like airways disease or bronchial #asthma. Bromelain can also dilute mucus and helps expel it. Cough and congestion related to sinus can also be effectively cured by bromelain. Supplement your medicines with a glass of pineapple juice. As many studies have noted, bromelain has potent anti-inflammatory benefits for your #body. Coughs are not uncommon when you have allergic airways diseases (AAD) as the body tries to purge itself of the excess mucus buildup. Anti-inflammatory therapy is one of the many treatments suggested to combat AAD. One study explored the effect of using pineapple juice to treat bronchial asthma. Test subjects consumed 100 ml of #pineapple mixed with an equal amount of water twice a day for a duration of 90 days. The results of the lung function test called peak expiratory flow rate (PEFR) were promising, leading the research team to conclude that pineapple #juice could bring significant improvements to those with bronchial asthma. Research has hinted at the mucolytic or mucus-dissolving benefits of pineapple juice. It can help enhance mucolysis and the expelling of mucus (also called expectoration). It also causes stringy mucus typical of COPD and bronchial asthma to be diluted, making it easier for you to expel it. If you suffer from a stuffy nose and cough due to hay #fever or #sinus problems, bromelain could come to your rescue. Its action as an anti-inflammatory, a decongestant, and a natural antihistamine (the kind of drugs used to treat an allergy) helps provide you relief. Source: https://ift.tt/2yBWJyT . . .

Dark green leafy #vegetables #Kale, collard greens, spinach, and broccoli are good sources of vitamin E and folate, Morris says. For example, one cup of raw spinach has 15% of your daily intake of vitamin E, and 1/2 a cup of cooked spinach has 25% of your daily intake. Exactly how folate may protect the brain is unclear, but it may be by lowering levels of an amino acid known as homocysteine in the blood. High levels of homocysteine may trigger the death of nerve cells in the brain, but folic acid helps break down homocysteine levels. Research by Morris and her colleague suggests that foods rich in vitamin E—including #avocado, which is also high in the antioxidant powerhouse vitamin C—are associated with a lower risk of developing #Alzheimers. Almonds are a good source of nutrients that are important for brain health, including vitamin E, folate and unsaturated fatty acids, as well as l-carnitine which is known for its neuroprotective benefits. Caffeine has been intensively studied before and consistently leads to improvements in various aspects of brain function, including improved mood, vigilance, reaction time and memory. However, #greentea contains more than just caffeine. It also has the a mino acid L-theanine, which is able to cross the blood-brain barrier. L-theanine increases the activity of the inhibitory neurotransmitter GABA, which has anti-anxiety effects. It also increases dopamine and the production of alpha waves in the brain. Studies show that caffeine and L-theanine can have synergistic effects. The combination of the two is particularly potent at improving brain function. Green tea contains less caffeine than #coffee, but enough to produce an effect. It also contains the amino acid L-theanine, which can work synergistically with caffeine to improve brain function.
